Rebel-Civilian Interactions and Governance

In addition to my published work on rebel-civilian interactions and governance, I have several ongoing projects examining how rebel groups interact with civilians, how these interactions shape recruitment into rebellion, and how the social origins of rebel groups affect their future trajectories.

Rebel Communication Strategies

In addition to my published work on, I have several ongoing projects examining a wide range of non-violent communication strategies armed groups employ to convey political messages to various domestic and international audiences.

Multiparty Civil Conflicts

My dissertation investigates how competition over recruits influences cooperation and infighting among militant groups, how groups design their alliances, and how allies learn from each other. I have several other ongoing projects examining different dimensions of multiparty civil conflicts.
